Dear Royal Oak School Families,

As we approach spring break, I find myself reflecting on the past eight weeks — it’s hard to believe that time has flown by so quickly! I want to express my heartfelt thanks for the warm and kind welcome I have received from all of you. It has been a wonderful start to my leadership journey here at Royal Oak School, and I am so grateful to be a part of this amazing school community.

A special thank you to our School Council for their hard work in organizing the fantastic Literacy Month events. Your efforts have made this month truly special for our students, and we appreciate your dedication to promoting literacy and learning within our school.

I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to all the families who took the time to connect with our teachers during the recent school conferences. Your engagement in celebrating student growth and discussing next steps in learning makes a significant impact, and we truly appreciate your partnership in supporting your child's education.

To our families who celebrate, I would like to extend my warmest wishes for a joyful and blessed Ramadan and Eid Mubarak! May these special occasions bring you peace, happiness, and may they be filled with love and joy.

Enjoy your well-deserved break, stay safe, and I look forward to seeing everyone back after the holiday on Monday, March 31, 2025.

Warm regards,
Michelle Ryskamp
Principal
Royal Oak School

School Planning Parent Engagement: We would like to thank the families who joined us at the March School Council Meeting where we shared the goals of the school development plan. Our School Development Plan goals are focused on literacy, numeracy and well-being. For more details, the complete Royal Oak School development plan can be found here. During that same presentation, administration shared how the school budget was allocated for the current school year and explained the approved school fees. More information can be found here. Your feedback regarding the School Development Plan, budget and fees is important to us. The feedback will assist us in planning for the upcoming school year. The survey will remain open until March 31, 2025. You can access the survey using this survey link.
