Dear Royal Oak School Families,
Fall Break: A reminder that this year the CBE has included a fall break in our calendar. There is no school for students from Saturday, November 8 to Wednesday, November 12. We look forward to seeing them back at school on Thursday, November 13, 2025.
School Conferences: Our next set of School Conferences are scheduled for Thursday November 28 and Friday November 29. Nov. 28 is a regular school day for students. Nov 29 there is no school for all students. The booking system will open to parents at 4:00pm on Thursday, November 20th and will close on Thursday, November 27th at 8:00am. To book a School Conference, please login to your MyCBE/PowerSchool parent account and click the link for School Conferences.
Scholastic Book Fair: Get ready! The Book Fair is coming our way November 28 & 29, 2025.
We can't wait to see you in our Gathering Space during School Conference times. Volunteers are requested for this event. A valid police clearance and updated annual volunteer form will be required. Please sign-up here: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60B0A4FA9AE2CA5F94-60180187-book
Jacket Racket: Royal Oak School will be supporting Jacket Racket this year by collecting donated items between Thursday, November 5th to Monday, November 17th. We will accept donations of winter outdoor clothing so that they can be redistributed to children who need winter clothing in schools across the city. Jacket Racket accepts gently used/clean or new winter jackets, snow pants, hats, mittens and scarves. Boots are not included. You can send donated items to Royal Oak School during the time window mentioned above. Some of our Grade 4 students will be collecting and organizing donated items. Thank you advance for your generosity.
Picture Day- New Date: On Wednesday, November 19th, Royal Oak School students will have their individual photos taken. For these events to go smoothly, we are asking for volunteer assistance! Picture Retake Day is scheduled for Monday, December 8th. ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST HAVE A VALID POLICE CLEARANCE initiated through the CBE/ROS (contact Leah Milne at ljmilne@cbe.ab.ca) and submitted their ANNUAL VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION FORM (confidentiality form) via myCBE/PowerSchool (Student and Parent / Legal Guardian Sign In (cbe.ab.ca)). Volunteers will bring classes to the gym according to the schedule provided by the school, help students form line ups, check hair and wardrobe for anything that might need to be cleaned up before each students picture and help calm student nerves by providing words of encouragement or having them practice their smiles.
