  • A special thank you to Mr. Hutton who took on the role of Acting Principal with us through December!  
  • We look forward to welcoming Janice Richardson to the role of Principal in 2025! 
  • Our volunteer of the month is…Katie C! She has two students at ROS - Grade 4 and Kindergarten – and is grateful for the kindness of bus students who helped ease the nerves of her first time rider this Fall. THANK YOU KATIE FOR BEING PART OF OUR COMMUNITY!

  1. Jan 6 to 17: Hug & Go/Crosswalk Safety Weeks – We are looking for 4 parent volunteers each morning from approximately 8.15-8.45 to help with setting up pylons and/or monitoring crosswalks around ROS. This is a great way to meet parents/students while helping to keep our community safe! Sign up here: ROS Volunteers: Hug & Go - January 2025 
  2. January 13: Fundraising Society & School Council Meeting (6.30-8.30pm) in the staff room 
  3. January 19: Family Skate Party! Let’s gather at the RRROCA ice rink in Royal Oak for some skating. Free skate/helmet rentals will be provided through The Skate Shack.   4. February 2025: Alien Inline is back!! Previously, we had over 150 opportunities for parent volunteers over the 16 days to facilitate setting up inline equipment, tying laces, and joining the fun! Shifts are (approx) 1.5 hours, broken down by classroom and police clearance with the CBE will be required. Start the clearance process now as they are taking ~6 weeks!
