Traffic Safety

Dear Parents, we must all work together to ensure pedestrian and wheeler safety on the roads and pathways near our schools. As you know, children are not always watching and traffic safety is a shared responsibility.

Please review the following safety tips:

  • Patience is required in school zones. These are busy places in the mornings and at afternoon dismissal when many families are using sidewalks, shared pathways, crosswalks and intersections.
  • Pedestrians should only cross the street at a marked crosswalk or at a corner. Look in all directions, then point, pause and proceed after making sure it is safe to do so.
  • When dropping-off and picking-up their children, caregivers should choose a safe place to stop and park respecting all signs, traffic laws and by-laws. Parking a block away and then walking is a great option.
  • Choose safety over convenience; choose to keep students safe.

Thank you for working together to keep our students safe.

Labeling Student Coats, Gloves etc.

Our lost and found is already getting full and we would ask that you please label your child’s clothing/supplies (coats, snow pants, gloves, lunch kits etc.) with your child’s first initial and last name.  This will make it possible to return it when found or if they come home with the wrong shoes/lunch kit/boots etc., you can return them to the school.  Inside the front doors, we have our lost and found items.  FYI - unclaimed items will be bagged up and donated to charity at the winter break and at the end of June.

Not Here for Pick up?

Students have been told that if a parent/caregiver is not here for their usual pick up to please come to the office.  We will contact parents and have the students picked up from the office.

Yellow Bus Rider – Parent Pick up from the Bus Line

To expedite students getting on the bus, we will be having students come to the bus and attendance will be done at the bus doors.  If parents are picking students up from the bus line, please come to the parking lot doors to pick up your child.
