Child and Youth Well-Being Webinars

These sessions will be hosted in partnership with experts from Alberta Health Services and will explore topics such as vaping, brain development, mental health, and sexual health.

Child and Youth Well-Being:
A Webinar Series for Parents and Guardians
CBE educators believe that parents and guardians can inspire their kids to make healthy lifestyle choices and increase protective factors – in order to do so, they need the right tools and information.
Well-being is a precondition for learning. As our understanding of student well-being continues to evolve, it is important for those that support children and youth to stay up to date on the same information so everyone can support student success.
The intention of the series is to advance student well-being by raising family and caregiver’s understanding of a variety of health-related topics.

THANK YOU so much to all our supporters of the first Yumraiser!! You bought a total of 741 pounds of vegetables and 990 pounds of apples!! Many thanks to all the volunteers that helped us move those around – we learned about being flexible with early deliveries.
Missed out? Stay tuned next year when we hope to repeat this success!
Also, did you know that Royal Oak School is a U R Strong school? Funded by your Fundraising Society, this program teaches about social emotional health with a focus on tools to have healthy friendships. As parents/guardians, we ALL have access to these tools too! One example of activities includes making a Calm Down Kit. We all feel stressed, worried and overwhelmed sometimes, but there are things that you can do to make yourself feel a little calmer. Follow this link (registration required) to see how you can help your child create a tool kit of calming strategies for when they’re overwhelmed by BIG emotions – https://urstrong.com/resource/make-a-calm-down-kit/
