Meet the Teacher Night
Thanks to everyone who came out to meet their child’s teacher on Thursday. This is an important step in your child seeing all the adults working together to support them in their education journey. Just a reminder that your child’s teacher is the first point of contact should you have questions or concerns. Please see the following link from our webpage with teacher email contacts. Please also note that teachers are often unable to check their email during the day or take phone calls, so please be patient as they get back to you as soon as they can. https://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/royaloak/about-us/contact/staff/pages/default.aspx
Thanks – a big thank you to all the parents who brought food for the teachers last night – what a treat and it was very much appreciated. Thanks for making us feel special.
Snacks and Lunches
Nut Aware School – please do not send any food that contains nuts to the school. I would also ask parents to talk to their child(ren) to see if they have enough snacks and food for the day and adjust portions if they need to.
Hug and Go
This is just a reminder the Hug and Go in front of the school is meant for a quick drop off point for children. To Help with traffic congestion, please do not park in this spot in the morning – see the map.
Terry Fox Run
Just an update around the cash donations brought in for the Terry Fox Run – thanks to everyone who donated. We raised $649.55 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Not Here for Pick up?
Students have been told that if a parent/caregiver is not here for their usual pick up to please come to the office. We will contact parents and have the students picked up from the office.
Yellow Bus Rider – Parent Pick up from the bus line
To expedite students getting on the bus, we will be having students come to the bus and attendance will be done at the bus doors. If parents are picking students up from the bus line, please come to the parking lot doors to pick up your child.
Labeling Student Coats, Gloves etc.
As you can imagine, we accumulate many lost and found items throughout the year. We would ask that you please label your child’s clothing/supplies (coats, snow pants, gloves, lunch kits etc.) with your child’s first initial and last name. This will make it possible to return it when it is found or if they come home with the wrong shoes, you can return them to the school. Inside the front doors, we have our lost and found items. Unclaimed items will be bagged up and donated to charity at the winter break and at the end of June.
