2) Jan 6 to 17: Hug & Go/Crosswalk Safety Weeks – We are looking for 4 parent volunteers each morning from approximately 8.15-8.45 to help with setting up pylons and/or monitoring crosswalks around ROS. Sign up here: ROS Volunteers: Hug & Go - January 2025

3) January 13, 2025: Fundraising Society & School Council Meeting (6.30-8.30pm) in the staff room

4) February 2025: Alien Inline is back!! Previously, we had 12 parent volunteers EACH DAY to facilitate setting up inline equipment, tying laces, and joining the fun! Shifts are (approx) 1.5 hours, broken down by classroom and police clearance with the CBE will be required. Start the clearance process now as they are taking ~6 weeks! o Sign in to your MyCBE account (Student and Parent / Legal Guardian Sign In (cbe.ab.ca) )

  • Clearances are taking a long time to be processed so register now!

1) Fundraising Society: Chairperson

  • Ideal would be to shadow Miranda this year with current team then take over roles for 2025/26 & 2026/27

2) School Council: Volunteer Coordinator

  • Ideally a 2-school year commitment (2025/26 & 2026/27)
  • Be a member of the Special Events Committee, create Sign Ups, support volunteers throughout the year at ROS and School Council/Fundraising events

Reminders!

  • Parking & crosswalk reminders! We have received quite a few complaints from neighbours & reports made to 311 recently. While we appreciate that snow piles make it more challenging to find parking on any street, this is a gentle reminder that parking & street safety rules still apply.
  • Book collection will begin in March 2025! With the holiday season approaching and maybe some decluttering over the break, please consider setting aside gently used kids books for our upcoming Literacy Month Used Book Sale. Stay tuned!
