Halloween
We have noticed the student getting excited about Halloween and all the fun surrounding it. Students are allowed to wear their costumes at school on Thursday Oct. 31. Please ensure the costume your child wears will not prevent them from participating in gym (no mobility issues). Please do not send your child in costumes that have weapons, are scary or have blood or have a mask. Please also ensure that costumes are culturally appropriate. We ask that parent do not send any candy to school for distribution in classes. Thanks and enjoy the fun time!
SCHOOL COUNCIL & FUNDRAISING SOCIETY NEWS – EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
· Thank you to everyone who came out for our October School Council & Fundraising Society meeting on Monday!
o It was great to connect with parents and meet some new parents too
· Our volunteer of the month is…Rasha M! She is an extremely generous Grade 3 parent and we are fortunate for her kindness in our school community. THANK YOU RASHA!
· The ROS Casino Fundraiser kicks off tonight – October 25
o Thank you to each parent who signed up to fill a shift and to each parent for tolerating our endless requests for help. We really could not make this happen without your support!
· Supporting student’s overall wellness includes promoting nutrition
o Throughout the year, ROS Council will be providing kids with fresh fruit as a snack.
o The first Fresh Fruit Friday will take place on November 1 – conveniently after Halloween!
o Please note that the next date will take place when the PM Kinders are at school
· REMINDER! “Inside Out 2” Family Movie Night ticket sales open Oct 28 at 6 pm via your Healthy Hunger account **Kids must be accompanied by an adult**

· Jacet Racket Donations
o Bring your clean, new or gently used winter clothing (e.g., jackets, snow pants, mitts, toques) to the front office until Thursday, November 21
§ Please put items in a bag and group mittens and outfits together
o These items will be distributed to children at schools across the city who are in need of warm winter clothing
