ROS Updates Sept. 20, 2024
Upcoming Dates
Thurs. Sept. 26 – Meet the teacher drop in 4:00 – 6:15. Surnames A – K from 4:00 – 5:00, L – Z from 5:15 – 6:15 (no school for Kindergarten students only on this day). Please note, these surname groupings are flexible, so if your schedule does not fit your time, please show up during the other surname times. Please be aware that parking will be difficult to find due to the volume of people attending. In addition, William Pratt also has their conferences on the same evening.
Fri. Sept. 27 – CBE non-instruction day – No school for students
Mon. Sept. 30 – No School – National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

I wanted to say a big thanks to all the volunteers who came out on this chilly, wet day to help support the joint Terry Fox run with William Pratt and ROS. Although the weather did not cooperate this time around, our students pushed though just like Terry Fox did! I will update you on the total amount raised by the two schools once Pratt has tallied the amounts.
Handicapped Parking Front of School
We have a student who rides on a bus that needs access to the handicapped zone out front of the school near the crosswalk. We would ask that other parents who need handicapped parking please leave this are open and use the handicapped parking stalls in the staff parking lot. Thanks for your help with this.

Please note that teachers’ days are very busy and they cannot take phone calls during the day. The best way to contact them is via email and they will do their best to reply promptly.
Safety Around the School and Student Pick Up Drop Off
I wanted to thank all the parent volunteers who work to keep our kids safe at the beginning and end of each day. Just a reminder to lead by example and follow all the rules of the road. Please be extra careful to watch out for kids who might not be paying attention as they cross the streets.
Please do not block people’s driveways, do not park in crosswalks or J-Walk in the middle of the street.

a. Our last fundraiser brought in $77,000 for the school. We need 40 volunteers to make this event happen – roles are simple and there’s lots of supervision and support available.
