I wanted to say a big thank you to all the parents for coming out for meet the teacher on Thursday. This is an important step in creating a team that works together to support your child’s learning journey. Thanks to everyone who participated and supported this year’s Terry Fox run. The grand total raised by Royal Oak and William Pratt came to $11 238.15! These funds have been donated to the Terry Fox foundation and will go towards fighting cancer.
Safety Around the School and Student Pick Up Drop Off
Thanks to all the parent volunteers who have been supporting safety for our students at the hug and go and crosswalk by the playground. Thanks also to all the parents who are modelling being safe while walking and crossing the streets around the school.
SCHOOL COUNCIL & FUNDRAISING SOCIETY NEWS – EVENTS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
· In recognition of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the Learning Commons will be using funds provided by School Council to purchase Indigenous resources to help students learn about the impact of the residential school system in Canada and in our community. We encourage students to check out these books to learn more.
